Chestnut Trees

Dead Chestnut Tress Posted by Hello
Building the Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park 1930's. Patch has read that at one time Chestnut trees madeup over half the trees in the eastern US. WOW! Would have loved to see that.
If you now go to the Smoky Mountain National Park, one can see this picture repeating its self. The Hemlock trees are being killed by the Hemlock Woolly Adelgid ( from Asia ) . Which is true but only part of the story. Air pollution and acid rain are doing their part.
