Not Much Going On

From the Patch

Press Secretary Scott McClellan officially confirmed that the White House is blowing off the Government Accountability Office's finding that prepackaged administration video news releases constitute illegal covert propaganda.
In an interview yesterday, Walker said the administration's approach is both contrary to appropriations law and unethical. (Comptroller General David M. Walker)

Patch thinks that soon the news will be Fox ( Fair and Balanced ) Pravda, ABC ( Liberal ) Pravda, on and on. What do you think is worse, a liberal press or government propaganda?http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A36694-2005Mar15.html

Sen. Pete V. Domenici (R-N.M.), chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee who recently visited Alaska, said the country needs to come to grips with its increasing reliance on foreign oil.
"It's time for America to wake up," Domenici said. "We're in a terrible, terrible predicament. This great country is now at the mercy of oil from overseas. And it is a terrible dependence and it is growing worse. I'm not telling you this will solve it. A million barrels of oil a day and another million barrels of oil a day, pretty soon it adds up."
Sen. Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.), who opposes drilling, said the United States should develop alternative sources of energy and focus on conservation to reduce reliance on foreign oil. ( So does the Patch )

Senate Democrats formally threatened yesterday to bring the chamber to a virtual standstill if Republicans carry out a plan to change Senate rules and bar filibusters of judicial nominations. The comments, which Republicans quickly denounced, signal that the two parties remain on a collision course whose outcome could be so explosive that it is generally called the "nuclear option." The Patch thinks this is another piece of democracy going down the tubes, These rule changes can bring about tyranny of the majority.

Have you been paying any attention to the budget talks going on in Washington, interesting stuff. One would think it would be dull, but contrarily it’s fascinating. It’s American Democracy in action. But having said that, it’s simple process. Do we take from the poor and give to the rich or do we take from the rich and give to the poor. That’s what tax cuts or budget cuts are all about. You can watch the process on C-Span.
Speaking of budgets, Rob is ticked off. Here in Cincinnati, the county is reducing the amount of money for libraries. ( Federal Budget Cuts tricking down ) This is after the county building two new sports stadiums at the cost of 750 million to 1 billion dollars. The libraries are used by the citizens of Hamilton county everyday, the stadiums sit empty 95% of the time. Nothing pisses Rob off more then these publicly financed stadiums. For what, he says, so some ball player that’s making 10 million dollars can play ball!!!! ( No, the Patch thinks it’s this way so millionaire team owners can keep being millionaires

No news on the UFO frontAlien, Rob working on the chase van, mounting that .50 caliber rifle.
