CHARLESTON, S.C. -— IMAX theaters in several Southern cities have decided not to show a film on volcanoes out of concern that its references to evolution might offend those with fundamental religious beliefs.
The film, "Volcanoes of the Deep Sea,'' makes a connection between human DNA and microbes inside undersea volcanoes.
All Patch can say is, better read “The Handmaids Tale”. Surly Americans are not going to let fundamental religions determine what we watch, read, and learn.
Astronomers said yesterday that they, or at least their telescopes, had laid eyes for the first time on planets beyond the solar system. Using the NASA Spitzer Space Telescope and careful timing, teams studying two planets were able to distinguish the glow of the planets' infrared radiation from the overwhelming glare of their parent stars.
Rob sure hopes he’s around when Aliens reveal themselves.
Executives at
General Motors said yesterday that they wanted union workers to accept the same health benefit cuts already taken by white-collar workers.
Medicare's financial outlook was "much worse than Social Security's" and predicted that the monthly Medicare premiums paid by almost all Americans 65 and older would rise by 12 percent next year after a 17 percent increase this year.
Rob says and he’s not being funny, health care is going to kill us. All ready 45 million Americans have no health care ( insurance ) and as cost continue to rise, this number can only grow.
